Stewart and Emma are the proud owners of Mojito Bar & Grill in Pernera.
Stewart and Emma moved to Cyprus in 2002 with no accommodation or jobs lined up; just 2 suitcases and a sense of relief at leaving the rat race behind. Within 7 days both were working at ‘Sweet Memories Hotel Apts’ where they ran the pool bar for three years. They then progressed to franchising the ‘Kama Hotel’ pool bar and restaurant with business partners Martin and Maria for 2 successful years before being able to branch out on their own.
After much searching in April 2007 they took over and began totally renovating their current site using Emma’s interior design knowledge. After much hard work and the calling in of several favours from many friends, Mojito Bar & Grill was opened on the 8th of May 2007. Named after Stewart and Emmas favourite Cuban cocktail, Mojito has become one of the busiest venues not only in Pernera, but in the Protaras area. Indeed on many occasions last year the restaurant was fully booked well ahead of the evening service.
They firmly believed that venues that sold fantastic food, quality drinks and authentic cocktails in a clean and modern environment with NO karaoke, NO tribute acts, NO bingo or other gimmicks were seriously lacking in the area.
The quality of your products and service should be the most important factor in attracting customers, NOT the sideshows
As has been stated at the top of their menus since they opened ‘We do not sell fast food, we do however serve fresh food as fast as we possibly can.’ With this mission statement, the modern stylish interior, the innovative and original menu, combined with using only the freshest and finest ingredients as can be sourced, a growing reputation has been created.
“We are especially proud of Mojito as we have worked very hard to get here. Everything we have, we have worked for – nothing was handed to us on a plate. This makes us appreciate it greatly. The last 6 years were a learning curve, but we continue to try and evolve not sit back like many businesses and expect the money to just keep coming in. We are also extremely lucky to have found such hard working and loyal staff. We know the difficulties found when trying to recruit reliable staff, so we are extremely fortunate with the team we currently have. We try to look after them, and they more than help us in return”
If you want superb quality food at realistic prices, try Mojito for breakfast, lunch, dinner or just a relaxing drink. Your only disappointment will be that you didn’t discover it sooner
